Kitchen & Bath Industry Show - January 10-12, 2017
Members of the Colmar Kitchen Studio team traveled to Orlando, FL between January 10-12, 2017 for The Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS). KBIS is "America's premier annual event dedicated to the kitchen and bath industry. KBIS is the voice of the kitchen and bath industry and has been for 50 years."
This annual show is a three-day event that showcases the latest product innovations and trends from leading kitchen and bath brands. Anyone from kitchen and bath designers to architects, builders, and remodelers attend KBIS to learn, network and view the newest innovations in the industry. There are great networking and learning opportunities between the events and speakers.
This year, the Opening Day speaker was former NFL quarterback, Peyton Manning! Some other faces you may recognize that were in appearance were HGTV's "Property Brothers" Jonathan and Drew Scott, Jay Leno, Nate Berkus and many more.
Our designer, Danielle McDonald was named September Designer of Distinction by Viking Range, LLC for a kitchen she designed with co-design support from designer, Rachel Hale. Danielle is pictured standing with her plaque at KBIS.
Up-and-Coming Kitchen Trends and Designs:
GE has various kitchen appliances that are making a splash this year. The GE Monogram Glass Front has a glass door that is opaque when closed but transparent when opened allowing someone to see into the refrigerator. Also, the GE Café series has a Keurig Brewer integrated on the refrigerator door, saving space and making your morning coffee that much easier.
Smart storage options in the kitchen are always something designers at Colmar are looking to utilize in their designs. The designers saw inventive drawer and cabinet space-savers to incorporate in kitchens. They also saw an in-drawer power outlet that allows you to charge your devices out of the way, as well as a magnetic spice wall and drawer with a built-in canister storage for cooking utensils. One of the most innovative displays, however, was a large cabinet area that doubled as counter space. Behind closed doors is not just for storage anymore, you can now also hide an additional, practical workspace that can be functional or closed off.
Lastly, a few of the most unique gadgets and appliances the team were able to see were a kitchen wine tap, an under-counter greenhouse, and the beautiful La Cornue ranges that had character, color and functionality.
Latest Bathroom Trends and Designs:
Various new, unique shapes and styles of countertop/vanity combinations are set to become quite popular and Colmar Kitchen Studio plans to have the unique vanity lines available soon. Also, a champagne finish on cabinet hardware and faucets is a hot, new trend.
We are grateful to have experienced all that KBIS had to offer this year and can’t wait to put some of the new trends in our designs soon!
